has calculated the volume
of colon cancer surgery done by individual hospitals in California in
1998. We have
included the Office's colon cancer hospital information on this site.
The data shows the following:
25%
of the cases were performed at a hospital which did 8 or
fewer inpatient cases in 1998.
50%
of the cases were performed at a hospital which did 18 or
fewer inpatient cases in 1998.
75%
of the cases were performed at a hospital which did 38 or
fewer inpatient cases in 1998.
The
maximum number of cases done at an individual hospital in 1998
was 162.
This
information is being provided as a matter of general interest. We

about it. The information is based on 1998 hospital inpatient data
